Against Entropy is a place for fleeting thoughts and, sometimes, more thought-out and researched pieces about old computers, classic video games, dial-up modems, and FM synthesizers. I’m Cara, the current list of things I’m working on include the launch of a telnet literary journal, the repair of more classic video game consoles than I can count, and converting a Commodore 128 into a MIDI bass synth, among many others.

I’ll be keeping a journal of my ongoing projects here, as well as observations about how we use old tech (and maybe some ideas for making these old things a little less disposable). Generally, I’m not amazing at keeping up to date with writing, but I’ve had a lot of thoughts that seem too drawn out or niche to make it to twitter and this seems like as good of a place as any to put them.

The first *real* post is coming soon, and will probably be about Sega and arcade games.

In the meantime, tell your friends!
